Thoughts are a powerful thing.

Thoughts are very powerful in our lives.  You can talk yourself into being happy or miserable just through your thoughts.  Wake up and make the choice to be happy and have a positive day.  YOU have a choice.  Mindful thoughts and meditation will help achieve joy and happiness. When you wake take a deep breath, put your mind in a good place.  You are not your thoughts, you are in control of them and can change them.  Don't let negative thoughts pull you down.  Turn away from them and let them flow through you so you aren't dwelling on them. Tell yourself that your presence is a unique gift to the world because it is. Only allow positive thoughts to form in your mind and allow them to fill you up.

Pray for your enemies.  I know it's a tough thought but do it.  I once read that if you pray for them for 30 days and send only positive thoughts out to them, you will have a mind shift.  It's absolutely true!!  Your anger will disappear and you will not hold onto any negative thoughts about that person. Your heart will be lighter and you will start living life with your heart open.  It's a beautiful thing.  That person is probably not even giving you a thought and you are holding onto anger for them and giving them way to much of your energy and getting nothing in return but negativity.  

Run away from toxic people.  Surround yourself with others who are positive, who support you and want you to succeed.  Be responsible for what you bring into the world. Giving and receiving of love is true happiness and how I find inner peace. 

I have a gratitude journal. I like reading back through the journals and seeing what little things brought me joy and happiness through the years. Someday I hope our children find comfort when they read about how much the little things meant to me. 

Take a minute today to just be.
